=========================================================
RELEASE DATES - BHB, UNIVERSAL, LAY DOWN WITH THE STRAWBS
=========================================================

The Broken Hearted Bride
------------------------
Release date for the UK is 8th September
The release date for the US has been put back to 7 October.

Duochrome
---------

It has now been agreed that Pinnacle will release Duochrome on 6 October
2008. The BHB/Duochrome package at £20 will continue to be available from
witchwoodrecords.co.uk until then, after which both albums will sell at
full price.

Universal
---------
There is some confusion about this - various people (including me) have had
notices from Amazon saying the release date has been put back - but others
have had their copies from Amazon already.

I'll try and get to the bottom of this.

Lay Down With The Strawbs
-------------------------

You can order this now, direct from Secret Films in both CD and DVD format:

FIRE LIVE CD
============

Dave Lambert has signed a label deal for release of a new live Fire CD,
recorded during the band's reunion concerts in late 2007.

The album will be distributed worldwide by Angel Air, a highly-respected
label specialising in rare and classic album releases and re-releases. Dave
was happy to select Angel Air following positive recommendation from
several reliable sources.

Angel Air's website address is www.angelair.co.uk. Advance orders will be
taken prior to the CD going on general sale - release date will be 6th
October 2008.

=================================================
NEW CATHRYN CRAIG/BRIAN WILLOUGHBY ALBUM DUE SEPT
=================================================

Cathryn Craig and Brian Willoughby have a new album coming soon:
"Surrender. They are both very happy with the record, produced by Phil
Rynhart, assisted by Brian and Cathryn.

Guest artists include Mary Hopkin and Doogie White on vocals, Dennis Bryon
on drums and vocals, Eleanor McEvoy on violin, Alistair Gavin keyboards and
Phil Rynhart on bass, keyboards, guitar, vocals, artwork and anything he
could lay his hands on!

The tracks are

* These Dreams (developed from This Night, These Dreams and You on
"Fingers Crossed")
* Two Hearts, One Love (new "band" version of Cathryn's popular song)
* Surrender (inspired by the survivors of the 2004 Tsunami)
* The Rejected Lover (a stunning duet featuring Mary Hopkin and Cathryn,
taken from Cathryn's great-grandfather's version in Cecil Sharp's book
"English Folksongs from The Southern Appalachians)
* Accanoe (a tribute to Pocahontas, who came from Cathryn's home territory)
* Rumours of Rain (an acoustic version of our mammoth Folk For Peace epic)
* Genevieve (Cathryn's aunt, a pioneering female pilot in Virginia)
* Genevieve in Flight (guitar instrumental)
* Alice's Song (a beautiful re-make of our signature song, with Eleanor
McEvoy)
* Glenarm (guitar instrumental, inspired by Brian's birthplace in Northern
Ireland)
* The Green Glens of Antrim (traditional folk song, featuring Brian's Dad,
Walter, on the accordion)

The album, on Cabritunes, will be available in September from
www.brianwilloughby.com

ROY HILL CDS
============

Roy is embarking on a programme of re-releasing his material on CD.

Currently available from Roy's enthralling Myspace site:
http://www.myspace.com/royhillwordsandmusic which also features Roy's
fascinating "my life in showbiz – a brief guide" and lots of pictures old
and new.

* Hello Sailor - 12 songs recorded 1976-77, a mixture of acoustic demos and
tracks recorded with The Strolling Players.

* Fun With Dave - 12 tracks recorded 1983-84 with producer David Richards.
Most are demos, some had loftier ambitions. David Richards went on to work
with lesser acts such as Queen, Bowie and Michael Jackson. I went on to
sell massage machines.

I've heard both these and they are excellent, Hello Sailor particularly
giving another side of some of the songs which would eventually come out on
Roy's solo album (he refers to it as"infamous" but I love it and am looking
forward to seeing that emerge).

* Live At The Mulberry Tree - Cry No More's debut outing originally
released on cassette in 1986, otherwise exactly what the title suggests,
with knobs on.

* Cry No More - From the pubs of Twickenham to ... American producers,
American Musicians, released in 1988 on vinyl and cassette. Chapter 15 of a
study in career pinball.

order by e-mail from deepdene@fsmail.net.
